Andrew John Oboyski has passed in peace on December 17, 2014.
He was born into this world on July 6, 1927 in Steubenville, Ohio. He was the proud son of John and Julia Oboyski.
Andy was a hard working, industrious and charismatic man. He worked until he couldn't work any longer. From back when he owned Andy's Atlantic on W. Exchange, to when he owned the Goodyear Tire Center in Barberton, where he was affectionately called the big "O", Andy came to be known as an honest and trustworthy man. He was a great businessman and an even better salesman. However, he is most famously remembered for the years he spent working at Abbey Ann's Secondhand store. Andy loved working there. With an appreciation for the art of buying and selling, he enhanced the business. He especially loved the customers. He loved them so much that he would tell them, "I love ya!" Many came to the store just to see him. People will remember his classic lines such as, "Let's make a deal!" and "There's my girlfriend!" He always gave a wink to the ladies. Nobody could get past Andy without smiling. Sometimes he would wrap a quarter in tape and tell customers, "Don't spend it, it's a good luck charm". Coming from Andy, it probably was. Andy was a wonderful man whom everybody loved, especially his family. With a great sense of humor, endless charm and infinite wisdom of business, he made this world a better place.
Andy leaves behind his loving friend, Gloria Eckhart; daughter, Lynn (Darryl) Kohn; stepdaughter, Glory (Tim) Cottrell; stepsons, Paul (Lauri) Sandels and Robert Sherlock; grandchildren, Katy Kohn, Karen Cottrell, Paul Sandels, Jr., Donna Cottrell, James Sandels; nephew, Larry Niutta; and sister-in-law, Pat (Roger) Ream. He also leaves behind his great love of golf, his love of birds and all of his girlfriends who shop at Abbey Ann's.
We all love and miss you Andy! May your heaven be on a golf course. Rest in peace.
At Andy's request, there will be no service. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
