Anna M Shean

Anna M. (Seruch) Shean passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2014.
Born Beloit, Ohio in 1922, Anna lived in Akron since 1943 when she came to work for the Akron Public Schools for 36 years as a Teacher, Principal, and Director.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Akron, a life member of the National Education Association, the Ohio Retired Teachers Association, and the Summit County Retired Teachers Association. She also belonged to AARP as well as other organizations. She received her Bachelor and Masters Degree from Kent State University.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, William P. Shean in 1989.
She is survived by her son Bill (Elaine); grand-daughter Lisa (Morgan) Maclellan; a sister-in-law, nieces, nephew, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 11:00am at the Myrna and Hugh Porter Chapel at Rockynol Retirement Community, 1150 W. Market St. Akron, where friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Private inurnment will take place at Rose Hill Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the Free Lunch Program at the First United Methodist Church, 263 E. Mill St., Akron, Ohio 44308; the Arthritis Foundation; or a charity of one's choice.
