David F Fleisch

David F. Fleisch died March 13, 2015 after a long courageous battle with cancer.

David was born May 13, 1955 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Richard and Betty Fleisch. David graduated from Andrew Warde High School, in Fairfield, Connecticut. He completed the necessary requirements and became a licensed optician January, 1980. He completed the continuing education every year and had certifications from the State of Ohio Licensed Optician, A.B.O Certified Optician and American Board of Opticianry. He worked for Dr. Gary L. Dodd, Inc. as an Optical Manager and was a Retail Sales Manager for Luxottica Retail. David enjoyed his short time volunteering at the Haven of Rest.

David was a kind, selfless caring person who saw the good in everyone. He truly loved his family and all animals. In keeping with his wishes for me not be too wordy with his obituary, I will say that he was one of finest men that I have ever known, and I was proud to be his wife.

David was preceded in death by his father, Richard R. Fleisch. He will be sadly missed by Linda, his wife of 27 1/2 years. He is survived by mother, Betty; children, Aaron (Kerry) Fleisch, Mark (Julie) Fleisch; step-children, Laurie Dutton, Jennifer (Ted) Gillespie, Steven (Alexandra) Gregory and Ted (Jennifer) Gregory; brothers, Douglas (Marlene) Fleisch, Eric (Susan) Fleisch, Gary (Michele) Fleisch, Richard "Chris" Fleisch , Paul (Sharon) Fleisch; sister, Eva (Joe) Freighly; 14 grandchildren; lots of nieces and nephews; and his special little friend, George.

A special thanks to Dr. Matthew Taylor and Dr. Jennifer Payne for their care during this long journey. Thank you also to the Summa at Home and the Hospice nurses who were so wonderful at the end.

Services will be held 2 p.m. THURSDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Dr. David A. Baker officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. WEDNESDAY and one hour prior to the service THURSDAY at the funeral home.
