Born on February 10, 1921 in England to George and Marjorie Flintham, he served in the Royal Air Force during World War ll. He worked as an Engineer for Babcock & Wilcox International, Bechtel and Babcock & Wilcox in Barberton. During his engineering career, he had the opportunity to work and live in Mexico City, Chile, Argentina and Columbia, San Francisco and New York City. He moved to Ohio in 1974. He was an avid golfer and played in two leagues until he was 91. He also loved making things in his basement woodworking shop. He always said he loved northeastern Ohio because of the friendly people and the abundance of reasonably priced public golf courses. As Ted would say in his heavy British accent "Who would want to live anywhere else?"
