Glenn " Jock " Snyder

Glenn "Jock" Snyder, 88 years young, resident of Medina, passed away November 17, 2016, with his children by his side.

Glenn was a devoted and loving husband to the "love of his life" Penny for 44 years until she passed in 1999.

Glenn, a retired union carpenter of 60 years, worked for Akron Floors and GQ Drywall. He was a Merchant Marine and an active member of the Allenside, Moose Lodge and Civitan Club of Barberton. "Jock", as he was known to many, spent his younger years as a cowboy in local rodeos and a member of Bar Nothing Ranch in Akron with his siblings.

Born in Akron to the late Ida Mae and Raymond Snyder, he is survived by sister, Bonnie Wilkey and brother, Harry Snyder. Preceded in death by brothers, Frank, John, Harold and Harvey and sisters, Ethel, Thelma and Delores; and his close companion of 12 years, Minnie Arvay who passed in 2015. Survivors also include children, Kandy Easterling (Gary Merton), Darrell (Kathy) Snyder, Dean (Jennifer) Snyder, Dawn "Pixie" Yelic (Ron Quick), and Darla Snyder (Steve Brenner); beloved niece, Jean Roach Godwin; grandchildren, Dannielle (Bruce) Brooks, Elizabeth Edwards, Rachel (Matt) Strang, Cody Snyder, Rebecca Snyder, Jonathan Snyder, Sarah Snyder and April (Mike) Morgan; great grandchildren, Scotty, Michael, Morgan, Penny, Noble, Sawyer, Bryce, Emma and Siena; great great grandchildren, Derrick, Delilah and Lucas; many beloved nieces and nephews who touched his life in many ways.

Calling hours from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. MONDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Service will be held 11:00 a.m. TUESDAY at the funeral home with Rev. James Gau officiating.
