Hester (Season) Harkins Peterson, 100, died February 25, 2015
Born October 19, 1914 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, she was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and Kent State University. She was an elementary school teacher in Cuyahoga Falls until her marriage to Russell A. Harkins, also of Cuyahoga Falls. They were married on the Firestone Plantation in Liberia, Africa in 1940. She later worked for the Falls Library, was a member of the Witan Women's Club and Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. After retirement she lived in Leesburg, FL for 26 yrs. before moving to Charlotte, NC.in 2006.
Hester was preceded in death by husbands, Russell A. Harkins and Lyle A. Peterson; brother, Gerald O. Season; sisters, Dorothy S. Wright and Julia S. Tidyman; and son-in-law, Gene Buzzi. She is survived by daughter, Judith H. Buzzi, Charlotte, NC, and son, Thomas A. Harkins (Geri), Roswell, GA; three grandchildren, Michael W. Buzzi, and Jennifer B. Shreero, Charlotte, NC, and Christopher A. Harkins, Atlanta, GA; three great-granddaughters, Mattison, Grayson, and Emerson Shreero of Charlotte, NC.
Private inurnment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Cuyahoga Falls. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1361 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44313.(Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
