Jane Morehead

Jane L. Morehead, 90, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2016.

Born May 20, 1926, Jane was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio, and a longtime member of the Goodyear Heights Presbyterian Church.

Preceded in death by her parents, Nola G. and Thomas E. Morehead, Jane was loved and treasured by her "special family" of many, many friends and acquaintances. Jane always had a bright smile for everyone she met. Her positive attitude was contagious.

Jane was an avid reader, and loved her suspense and action novels. She loved to travel, and saw much of the world throughout her lifetime. Jane loved all of nature. She loved her garden, and her dogs, and was an advocate for the Humane Society.

Jane had been an active member of the Billow Chapter #483 of the Order of Eastern Star. Jane graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Business, and worked as a buyer for over 35 years at Polsky's, The M. O'Neil Company, and Macy's Department Store.

Jane shares a heartfelt and most sincere thank you to the friends and staff of Concordia at Sumner, and to her supportive caregivers from Great Lakes Caring.

Friends may call on FRIDAY from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 Miller Rd., where the funeral service will take place at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Sue Roseman officiating. An Eastern Star service will be held at 2:45 p.m. prior to the funeral. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concordia at Sumner, 970 Sumner Parkway, Copley, OH 44321, or Goodyear Heights Presbyterian Church, 1430 Goodyear Blvd, Akron, OH 44305.
