JoAnn Martine Obituary
JoAnn Marie Martine,73, born on September 10, 1943 transcended into heaven on May 17, 2017. She was the daughter of John and Helen Kostelnik, and sister of John Kostelnik (all since deceased). JoAnn leaves to cherish her memory her husband, David H. Martine; their son, David Scott Martine (Jennifer) and their daughter, Traci Jo Restivo (Jonathan); two very special granddaughters, Sophia Martine Restivo and Karli Elizabeth Restivo; and many friends and relatives.
JoAnn attended Kent State University and Akron City Hospital's former school of Radiological Technology. She worked as a Registered Technologist at City Hospital, Orthopedics Surgeons, (currently Crystal Clinic) and the Akron Health Department retiring in 2004.
As a child and in her adult life she enjoyed the many hours of good times with Traci, the grandchildren and friends at Waterworks Park. And being around water was always good for an annual family vacation at a beautiful beach or two as they made her whole again. She was especially fond of the tropical cruises and trips to North Myrtle Beach in South Carolina and Fort DeSoto Beach in Florida. The hundreds of "mystery trips" that she and her husband Dave took while relaxing, laughing and telling stories while finding secret diners and exploring the assuredly places where no one else had ever been. Then her winters in Florida and the Spring Training baseball games that included her son Dave and the stories that came out of that were priceless. She was a very special person who was very much loved by her family, and undoubtedly is now playing baseball with her Lord and Savior as the Angels as fans look on.
Cremation has taken place and a brief memorial service will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron, Ohio 44333. Dr. Mark T. Ruppert of The Vine Fellowship Church will be officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home 1 hour before services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Vine Fellowship Church, 3676 Community Lane, Copley, OH 44321 or Summa Health at Home, P.O. Box 2090, Akron, OH 44309-2090. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
