Julia T. Stell

Julia T. Stell, 98, died on October 4, 2016. She was a native Akronite and a graduate of the University of Akron in 1940 attaining a BS in secretarial sciences. Born of Hungarian immigrants Julius and Teresa Mikis, she was very proud of her Eastern European heritage. She was a decades long ticket seller and volunteer for the "Day at the Races" charitable event supporting Saint Thomas Hospital. She was an artisan in the kitchen and was noted for her Hungarian goulash, pigs-in-the-blanket and honey cookies. She was a jams and jellies whiz who donated the fruits of her culinary talents to friends, family and charities in the Akron area. Julia loved to play duplicate bridge and recently attained her Ruby Life Master.

Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stell; she is survived by her daughter, Susan Stell; sons, James, William, Richard, Robert, and Michael; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday October 10, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St., Fairlawn 44333 with Fr. Steven Brunovsky officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N Miller Rd., on Sunday October 9, 2016 from 2-5 p.m. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Julia T.
