Louis Paul Romestant, Jr., 85, died in Massillon, Ohio on February 6th of natural causes.
He was born in Akron, Ohio and graduated from St. Vincent in 1948. He attended Marquette University and was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1952. He served in the Navy during the Korean War on the U.S.S. Bearss where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade. Lou was an avid reader and wrote many letters to the editor of the Akron Beacon Journal. He was happy to help his neighbor in time of need and was described in his senior yearbook as 'A promising tutor of female students'. He had his private pilot's license and spent many happy hours at Skypark in Wadsworth. He loved classical music, motorcycles and vintage automobiles. Apart from college and the service he spent his entire life in Akron.
He is survived by his children, Louis, Larry, Raymond and Mary Clements; and by his sister, Gertrude Maistros. We'll remember him for his sense of humor and quick wit, his problem solving and love of gadgets, and for his ability to make a great pancake.
