Madeleine Pringle Obituary
Madeleine Pringle, born 1927 in Brussels, Belgium, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at her home.
Mrs. Pringle came to the United States in 1947 to marry her late husband, Otis, an American soldier she met in Belgium during World War II. Together they forged a life in the Akron area. Mrs. Pringle taught French for many years, first at the Berlitz Language School, then in the Akron Public Schools, and at the University of Akron.
A devotee to the arts, Mrs. Pringle was a member of the Tuesday Musical Society and the Cleveland Museum of Art. Passionate about travel, she often returned to her native Europe.
Mrs. Pringle leaves behind her devoted daughter Michele and her son-in-law Michael Santee. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends in the United States and Europe.
Friends will be received at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., on Sunday, July 27 from 2-4PM. Private burial will take place for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tuesday Musical Society, One South Main St., Suite 301, Akron, Ohio 44308-1842.
