Margie Ewing Obituary

Margie Ruth Ewing, 93, of Hudson, Ohio passed away June 8, 2017.
Margie was born in Cleveland Ohio on January 8, 1924 to the late Anna and Karl Gasche. Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Ewing. She is survived by three daughters, Martha (Jan), Holly and Robin (Ted); two stepsons, Doug (Vivian) and Dave (Janet); and many grand and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and good friends.
Margie loved travel and learning, with trips around the world even to the North Pole. She had degrees in education and one in physical therapy. She even went back to school at 82 to get a certificate in medical coding. Margie taught in the Hudson School District for many years as a teacher and as tutor for many students.
She loved the out of doors and worked to help create the Cuyahoga Valley National Park along with her husband Andy. Margie was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Hudson for 45 years where she and Andy worked with the youth group on a service trip to Biloxi, Miss. She was a member of Transenders and sang in the choir.
Margie loved living in Hudson, Ohio and watched it grow for many years and enjoyed relationships with many friends, students and former students' families. She also was a member of the Hudson Garden Club and served as President. She loved being a member of the Hudson Players, the local theater group for many years.
Her Memorial Service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24 at the First Congregational Church of Hudson, 47 Aurora St, Hudson, OH 44236. Private interment at Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorials in Margie's memory may be made to Bonyo's Kenya Mission, P.O. Box 13045, Fairlawn, OH 44334.
