Matthew John Naska

Matthew John Naska, age 40, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born November 2, 1973 in Akron, he was the son of John and Vincetta (Nicolino) Naska. Matt graduated from Bowling Green State University as well as receiving his Masters from Kent State University. He was a teacher at the Plain Local School District.
Matt loved his children, family, and friends; he enjoyed following the Cleveland sport teams, the Buckeyes and golfing with his friends.
Besides his parents, survivors include his wife of 14 years, Theresa (Trebets), sons: Louis "Lou" Anthony and Santino "Sonny" Matthew; brothers: Vince (Lora) and Tony (Abby); mother and father in law George and Gerri Trebets; brother and sisters in law: Diana (Bill), Edward (Gina), and Kathleen; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Friends will be received at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85. N. Miller Rd., Akron, on Friday from 2-4 and 6-9PM. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 9:30AM at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St, Fairlawn; private Inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Matt's memory to help further his children's education to the Matthew Naska Benevolent Fund in care of First Merit Bank, 2700 W. Market St., Akron, Ohio 44333.
