Obituary
Shirley M. Scranton, age 87 of Akron, OH, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022 after a long battle of medical & physical illness.
In her younger years, she had been a Christian day school teacher, (3rd & 5th grades) for Zion Lutheran Church (downtown Akron) and a proud Mother. Music was important in her life. She served God by soloing & playing piano in the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H. James Scranton; daughter, Deborah Scranton; and parents, Leonard and Margaret Holton. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Annette Scranton; son, Robert Scranton; and grandchildren, Cory, Devin, and Ethan.
Calling hours will be held TUESDAY, November 22, 2022 from 4-6 PM at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd Street, Cuyahoga Falls. Funeral services will be held WEDNESDAY, November 23, 2022 at 1:30 PM at the Billow FALLS Chapel with Pastor Andy Alberts officiating. Burial will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tallmadge Lutheran Church Organ Fund, 759 East Ave., Tallmadge, OH 44278.
