Jon H. Baker

Jon H. Baker passed away at his home on Monday, April 9th.

He was born in Akron, Ohio in 1945 and lived in the Akron area most of his life. Jon wants his family and friends to celebrate his life and all of the fond moments spent together.

Jon is survived and by his wife of 43 years, Helen (Shaffer) Baker; daughter, Kimberly Hesseman (Jonathan); son, Jon H. Baker, Jr. (Kelly); brother, Ken Baker, Jr. (Dee Ann); his grandsons, Carter and Max Baker; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Kathryn Baker. Jon had so many dear and close friends whom he loved and cherished.

He was a graduate of Buchtel High School in 1963. Jon later received his bachelor's degree from Ohio University in 1967, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. He had a career in human resources with B.F. Goodrich, Jaite Packaging, and Wayne Steel. Jon also served on the Board of B.F.G Federal Credit Union.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 13th at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron 44333. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14th at the funeral home. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Justin Wigington Benevolent Fund through any First Merit Bank. Go Bucks!
