Listen to Obituary

Ann Pialet, born February 24, 1925 to Walter and Anna in Laredo West Virginia, enjoyed a childhood immersed in the mountains and forests surrounding her home. An abiding love for her surroundings became a passion for gardening and nature which endured throughout her long life.

In 1938 her father died and the Lebetz family moved to Washington, Pennsylvania. During World War II she met and married Frank Pialet of Ellsworth, had two children, Patricia and Donald and settled into family life first in Charleroi then Speers, then Craven Hill in Monongahela. After the nest emptied she became immersed in oil painting, continued to garden, but on a landscape scale and became a deeply committed member of the Presbyterian Church in Charleroi. At age 85 She moved closer to her daughter in Akron, Ohio, where she lived at Rockynol from 2015 until her passing at age 101.

Her children are very grateful for the compassionate care provided by 7th floor Akron General Medical Center nurses and aides and the Memory Care unit at Rockynol.

Ann had zest and an energy for life which never lessened in spite of advancing years. She is waiting for us by the gates of her forever garden.
