Listen to Obituary

Anthony “Tony” Brustoski Sr., 88, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, in Akron, Ohio, with his loving wife, Sharon, by his side.

Tony grew up on a small farm in Stow, Ohio, built by his Polish immigrant parents. Tony was fortunate to possess boundless curiosity and a love of learning. He was an expert in all things structural and mechanical. Tony and Sharon owned a home building and renovation business, and he was a proud member of the Northeast Ohio Carpenters and Millwrights unions. Later, he spent much time in his workshop refurbishing and beautifying his large collection of boats and antique tractors.

Throughout his life, Tony was an avid fisherman and never needed to exaggerate his catches. He is fondly remembered hosting many fishing expeditions to Lake Erie and the Niagara River. When his children were young, the family would pile into their small camper and travel out west to Wyoming or up to Rice Lake in Canada. He was not afraid to tackle challenges and introduce Sharon and the kids to nail-biting adventures and provide many comical stories of his youth.

Tony is survived by Sharon and his children Anthony Brustoski Jr. (Rhondalynn), Cheryl Shroyer (Patrick), Gary Brustoski, Diane Brustoski, Kim Brustoski (Richard Solwitz), and Amy Brustoski. He was a grandfather to Sonny, Sarah, Anthony, Paul, Erin, Michael (Ashley), Benjamin (Carley), Anna (Michael), Gabriel, Jennifer (Wyatt), Emily (Sarah), Torrey (Anson), Wyatt, Henry, Graceson and Iris, and great-grandfather of nineteen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Anna; brothers, Joe, Michael and Paul; sisters, Rose and Mary Ann; daughter, Jo Ann; and grandson, Ethan.
