Barbara L. Adam, age 80, of Akron, OH entered into eternal rest on August 28th, 2026. She was born on October 8th, 1945 in North Royalton to parents, Walter and Maria Borchert (nee Faranda). Raised in a large family, she grew up as one of six children alongside her brothers Kenneth, William, Ronald, and Norman Borchert, and half-sister Marilyn Eickhoff.
Barbara was a proud graduate of Baldwin Wallace University, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in education. After completing her studies, she went on to serve as a teacher for a number of years before finding her true passion in the travel industry. In the late 1980s, Barbara founded Bath Travel, Inc., where she helped countless clients plan their travel needs. She devoted her life to helping friends, neighbors, and even large corporate clients to plan their travels, whether it be in the United States or around the world. After enjoying a long and rewarding career in the travel industry, she retired in the mid-2000s to devote her time to being a full-time grandma.
She took pride in fostering genuine connections with others and enjoyed building lasting relationships. She was never one to say “no” when a friend asker her to help. A woman of faith, she lived her life as a devout Catholic and was devoted parishioner at St. Hilary Catholic Church in Fairlawn, where she could be found every Saturday attending the 4 P.M. Mass.
Preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Maria Borchert; her brothers, Kenneth, William, and Norman Borchert; and half-sister, Marilyn Eickoff; she is survived by her sons, Christopher Adam (Katie) and James Thomas “Tom” Adam (Paula); grandchildren, Kennedy, Lance, Grant, and Alexander James “A.J.” Adam; and brother, Ronald Borchert.
