Charles Roger Ault Sr., 88, of Stow, OH
1/8/1937 - 6/21/2025
Charles went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 21, 2025, with family by his side, after a brief battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Charles W Ault Jr and Anna T Ault.
He is survived by his long-time significant other, Rita Gyuire. He proudly leaves a legacy of 35 descendants, consisting of 6 children; Charles R Ault Jr, William F Ault, Debora K Clem Graeff (Michael), Teresa M LeBorgne (George), Diane M Ault and Jessica L Larch (Derek); 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his sister Lillian Ault Custer, brother Richard W Ault (Jeanne), as well as extended family and many friends.
He was born in New York, NY, and grew up in Cleveland, OH. He raised his family in Tallmadge, then retired to Stow.
Upon discharge from the Marines, he joined the family business, Summit Moving & Storage, where he, along with his brother Richard, continued to run the business until retirement in 2017.
Charles was an active member in his community, both socially and in business. He was a proud Marine, a long-time Freemason, and a Shriner. Being a part of the Shrine Clown Unit, as Zippo, was something that brought him so much joy. He loved to make people smile and laugh; he was well known for his sense of humor. He was always ready to share a story, a joke, or a new trick; where there was a crowd, he could be found in the middle of it. He had a passion for his family and life. He will be missed by many, but family and friends may take comfort in honoring a life well lived.
The family would like to extend gratitude to the staff at Heritage of Hudson for the care they provided in his final moments.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Shriners Hospitals and St Jude's Children's Hospital.
Family and friends will be received on WEDNESDAY, July 2, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Funeral Service to follow at Noon with Pastor Gordon Hayberg officiating at Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St, Cuyahoga Falls, OH. Burial immediately following at Chestnut Memorial Park.
