Charles P. Raney, 87, died July 25, 2009.
Born in Akron, he was a B-25 pilot trainer in the Army Air Corps during World War II. As a lifelong pilot, Chuck was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, the N.R.A., and Adoniram Joppa Lodge # 517 F&AM. Mr. Raney had been the owner of Raney Tire Company and had also been a manufacturer"s representative for Hawkinson Retreading Corp.
Preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie A. Raney; he is survived by his daughter, Janet R. Barry M. Ward; sons, Jonathan C. Raney and C. Curtis Dale L. Raney; grandchildren, Brandon and Kyle Ward, Ryan, Michael and Jonathan C., Jr. Raney, Adam, Aaron and Rachel Raney; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Alexander, Carolyn, Leo and Uli; very close friends, Thelma Wood and Wendy.
Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., TUESDAY from 4 to 7 p.m. Private entombment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorials may be made to the Freedom Alliance, 22570 Markey Court, Ste. 240, Dulles, VA. 20166.
