Christopher Sandford

Christopher Sanford, 55, of Lewis Center and formerly of Akron, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and much love on March 19, 2026, after a brave battle with cancer.

He was born June 27, 1970, in Toledo, Ohio to the late Patrick and Sylvia Sanford. Chris enjoyed spending time with his kids and being a sports coach to them and many others. Chris was a family man through-and-through but when he was not with them, he was doing what he’s best at: dental sales. Chris had a long-time career in dental sales with over three decades of experience and held many awards and titles for his success. Chris is widely considered a veteran of the industry and later he received his real estate and broker licenses when he joined DDSmatch in Northern and Central Columbus helping guide dentists through practice transitions.

Chris is survived by his three children Davis Sanford, Sloane Sanford, and Tatum Sanford. He is also survived by his siblings, Ronald Sanford, Holly McLaughlin (Thom), and Randall Sanford.

A few of Chris’ children's favorite memories are when he would wake them up with his iPhone sound board of Arnold Schwarzenegger while doing his own impressions to make them laugh. His hand puppets, Mac and Harry, will always be a highlight of the kids' childhood. Chris loved to take his kids on adventures whether that be amusement parks, concerts, or vacations, these are where some of their fondest memories were made.

The family would like to give special thanks to Chris’ hospice nurse, Stacy, to Lapo Alinari, and to Isla Morvai for their care and support to Chris.

Friends may call on WEDNESDAY, March 25, 2026, from 4-8 PM at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Fairlawn, OH 44333. Mass of Christian Burial will take place THURSDAY, March 26 at 11:00 AM at St. Sebastian Parish, 476 Mull Ave. Akron, OH 44320.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Chris’ honor to the James Cancer Hospital or a charity of your choice.
