Christopher J. Zak

Christopher J. Zak, 77, passed away surrounded by family on October 6th, 2026. Born on April 12th, 1949, to John and Marcella Zak. Chris was a lifelong resident of Richfield, Ohio and a graduate of Revere High School where he was captain of the 1966 Revere Hall of Fame Football team. Chris took pride in the company he started in 1972, C.J. Zak Company, Inc., and operated for 54 years. He enjoyed raising his three boys, building his log cabin in Montana, coaching youth football, skiing, golfing, and having fun with many family and friends. He enjoyed a good drink, a good laugh, and a good opportunity to do something he shouldn’t.

He is survived by his spouse, Laura Zak; his children, Jeremiah (Colleen), Josh, Jonathan (Mackenzie) and his 6 grandchildren, Kylie, Hayden, Addison, Emerson, Charlotte, and Harper. As well as his 5 siblings, Marcia, Greg (Carol), Tim (Rosemary), Winny, Doug (Linda) and many nieces and nephews.

Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Chris are welcome to join in a Celebration of Life to be held at Richfield Heritage Preserve. The family looks forward to gathering to hear stories and honor his memory. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial donation to his favorite charities St. Judes or Tunnels 2 Towers.
