Clyde A Lowry

Clyde A. Lowry, age 87, of Tallmadge, Ohio passed away peacefully Sunday, July 26, 2026.

Clyde was born on December 3, 1938 in Akron, Ohio. He graduated from Akron Central High School, class of 1957. He loved basketball, was picked 1st team All City Basketball in 1956 and 1957. On September 28, 1958 he married Jaqueline “Jackie” Corwin. Together they shared 69 years of marriage. They graduated in the same class at Central High School. Clyde was a Forman at BF Goodrich and President of the Foreman’s Club in 1973. He retired from BF Goodrich in June 1987 with 34 years of service, he also played on their Basketball team and won first place 2 years in a row. He served on the USS Intrepid Aircraft Carrier 1958-1960. He played on the Aircraft Basketball team, they won 1st place. He came home with a jacket, pictures, and a trophy for the ship as proof. Lowry Swimming Pools was started in 1970 at 2445 Mogadore Rd. Akron, Ohio. It is now 56 years young. His son, Jason Lowry who he’s very proud of took over the business in 2001.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amber Lee Lowry who passed away August 25, 2016.

Graveside Services with Navy and VFW Honors will take place 1PM WEDNESDAY, August 5 at Glendale Cemetery, 150 Glendale Ave. Akron, Ohio 44302.
