Cynthia Louise Lane

Cynthia (Cindy) Louise Lane (née Crookston), age 74, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026. She is survived by her loving family: husband of 52 years, Doug Lane; daughters Sarah (Chris) Cupples and Bethany (Tommy) O’Reardon; sons Adam Lane and Sam (Janet) Lane; grandchildren Aiden, Kayla, Ella, and Kate; sisters Peg (Bob) Bovard, Linda (John) Livigni, and Kathy (Rick) Rodgers; and brothers Matt (Kathy) Crookston, Jim (Kelley) Crookston, and Tom (Melanie) Crookston; Aunt Elaine (Pat) Donahue; and scores of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Patricia Crookston.

After raising her children, Cindy graduated from The University of Akron with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in speech-language pathology. She worked as a speech-language pathologist for the Cuyahoga Falls City School District for 27 years, most recently at Roberts Middle School and DeWitt Elementary School. She loved her work, her students, and her colleagues.

Cindy was best known for her sweet disposition, kind spirit, and quick wit. She was an avid reader, runner, blood donor, and loyal fan of her family members’ sports pursuits. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, most notably her wonderful grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, please perform acts of kindness in her memory.
