Dorothy Marie Nelson

Dorothy Marie Nelson, age 86 years, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 11, 2026, surrounded by family.

Dorothy was born July 22, 1939, in Newaygo County, Michigan. She graduated from White Cloud High School in 1957. For most of her life, she resided in Oakland County, Michigan where she raised her two daughters. She moved to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio in 2023 to be closer to family. Dorothy enjoyed quilting, and knitting, but she especially loved beating everyone at trivia.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Forest and Susan (Ridderikhoff) Nelson, her beloved daughter, Suzette Herskovitz; and her siblings: Audrey, Cecilia, Donna, Virginia, Gloria, Bob, and Jack. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Eric Jackson of Cuyahoga Falls; son-in-law, Scott Herskovitz of Walled Lake, Michigan; grandchildren: Libby Jackson and Max Jackson, both of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Dr. Jaylin Herskovitz and fiancé Austin Justice of Summerville, Massachusetts, and Jordan and Caleb Duchan of Detroit, Michigan; siblings: Beverly Lewis and George Nelson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 18 from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM at Billow Funeral Homes Falls Chapel, 1907 23rd Street, Cuyahoga Falls. A memorial service will immediately follow.
