Dorothy Wilson

Dorothy Wilson, of Stow, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026, at the age of 101. She was born on December 11, 1924.

Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward “Poppy” Wilson.

She is survived by her daughter, Winnie Warner (Jim); grandchildren, Eydie Snowberger (Matt), Ray, Teddy, and Kara; and great-grandchildren, Alex Snowberger (Rachel) and Nolan Snowberger.

Dorothy lived her life with a tremendous personality and an unforgettable sense of humor. Though she was deaf her entire life, she never let that define her. She had a giant personality, a wonderful sense of humor, and a special ability to make anyone around her laugh.

She loved bingo, cooking, animals, and spending time with the Deaf Club of Akron. She was also a devoted caregiver who spent much of her life caring for and helping others. Her family will especially remember the love she put into her cooking—and nobody could make cookies, potato soup, or tuna burgers quite like Grandma Dorothy.

Dorothy leaves behind a family who loved her dearly and countless memories that will continue to bring smiles and laughter for generations to come. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A private burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dorothy’s honor to One of a Kind Pet Rescue in Akron or the Summit County Humane Society in Cuyahoga Falls.
