Elizabeth "Betty" Eastman

Elizabeth “Betty” Eastman, age 88, of Bath Township, died on February 10th, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Getrude and David Kendig. She was born in Akron, OH on December 24th, 1937. Betty attended Bath School and was a proud graduate of The Old Trail School, class of 1955.

Betty lived in Bath her entire life and served on the Zoning Board of Appeals for several years. She was a dedicated member of the Junior League of Akron since 1958 and was also an active member of the Women’s Board of Summa Health. While on the Women’s Board, she served as President & Chairman of the Gift Shop.

Betty was married to her husband, Fred Eastman, for wonderful 45 years. Together, Fred and Betty raised their family and were blessed with two devoted children, David Eastman and Ann Robson (nee Eastman).

She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred, who passed in 2006. She is also preceded in death by her parents; Getrude and David Kending; her great granddaughter, “Baby B” Cristiano; and by many cousins. She is survived by her children, David (Leah) Eastman and Ann (Jeffrey) Robson; grandchildren, Natalie (Joe) Cristiano and Kelly (Mark) Robson; great-granddaughters, Frankie and Palmer; step-brother, Craig Harper; and Craig’s children, Tiffany and Heidi. She is also survived by cousins, Pam Ellis (of Bonita Springs, FL) and Wheaton Vaughn (of Narragansett, RI).

Friends may call 4-6 P.M. THURSDAY February 19th, 2026 at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road Fairlawn, OH 44333. Betty will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Burial Park in a private committal service officiated by The Rev. Dr. Sandra Selby. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Betty’s memory may be made to the Akron Symphony Orchestra or to the Trailhead Community Health Foundation of Greater Akron.
