C. Evelyn "Evey" Archey

Carrie Evelyn Archey, “Evey,” age 100, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

She was born May 30, 1925, in Akron, OH; daughter of the late Joe and Inda McCreary.

Evey was deeply committed to community service and volunteerism. She was an active member of the American Cancer Society and dedicated her time to supporting its mission. A proud member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Evey also served as a past President of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), reflecting her devotion to education and family. She contributed to the arts and civic life as a member of the Akron Civic Theatre Women's Guild and was also involved with the Women’s City Club.

Evey is survived by her two sons, Dennis (Nancy) Archey and David (Sandy) Archey; cherished granddaughters, Erin, Lauren, Megan, Christine, and Karen; seven beloved great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Private family services have taken place.
