Frances M. Crawford, 93, born October 14, 1915, died October 12, 2009.
A lifelong resident of Akron, she was the daughter of G. R. and Verda Wise Ulmer. She held a bachelor's degree from The University of Akron and played bridge with her Kappa Kappa Gamma sisters for more than 40 years. Her first marriage, to Robert K. Stinaff, ended in divorce. Her 1954 marriage to Alfred Herberich ended with his death in 1971. An active community volunteer, she married Robert S. Crawford in 1988; he died in 2002.
Frances is survived by daughters, Lynne Woodman William Wendling of Richfield, Carol Stinaff Ruckel of Fort Lupton, Colorado; grandsons, David Ruckel and Geoffrey Ruckel, both of Denver, Colorado. Two brothers, Robert and Richard, preceded her in death.
The family thanks the loving caregivers of Sumner Home Health and Judson Retirement Community.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 17, at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, 292 E. Market St., Akron, with reception following at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The University of Akron Foundation or Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel
