Gopala Krishna Medapuram

Gopala Krishna Medapuram was a beloved father, husband, brother, friend, and neighbor. He took care of his wife and son and received so much love from them. He passed on Thursday, April 23rd, 2026. He will be remembered for having a fierce loyalty to keeping his family close and having an immense dedication to his work. He made friends everywhere he went, and even in the most difficult of moments, always had a joke to deliver. Many of us also remember his love for food and for taking funny selfies. Across Kurnool, India, Chicago, Illinois, North Canton, Ohio, and many other places, he has left behind a beautiful memory.

Gopala grew up in Kurnool, India as the youngest child in a family of his father, his mother whom he loved the most, his four brothers, and his close friend. He married Rohini and prepared for his new life as a husband. After his father passed, he supported his mother with a lot of love and made the difficult decision of leaving India for the U.S. to find work, to raise a family, and to prepare for a new journey. He always believed he would join his mother when he passed. Alongside his wife, he worked to buy a home, to send his son to college, and to support his family and friends in their times of need and celebration.

He is survived by his wife, Rohini Karanam; and his son, Haranath Medapuram; andhis brothers, nieces, and nephews.

The following days will be dedicated to rituals to see him through his transition: the 8th, 9th, and 10th of May.
