Gregory Ray Akers

Gregory Ray Akers, 61, of Akron, passed away on January 14, 2022. He was born on May 5, 1960 in Akron to Larry R. Akers and Nancy D. (nee Hayslip) Pappas.

He graduated from Firestone High School and attended Dawson Community College in Glendive, Montana.  Gregory worked primarily as a car salesman in the greater Akron area.

Some of Gregory’s hobbies and interests included sports, especially basketball and football.

Gregory was preceded in death by his father, Larry R. Akers, and brother, Steven Pappas. He is survived by his mother, Nancy D. Pappas; sister, Patsy (George) Lowe; daughter, Melissa Kaufman; sons, Quentin and Justin Starnes; and numerous cousins.

Services will be held 1:00 P.M.  Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Fairlawn, OH 44333. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Open M or the American Heart Association.
