Gwen Irene Hilston

Gwen Irene Hilston, age 79, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away peacefully May 7, 2026, in her home.

She was born March 17, 1947, in Youngstown, OH, daughter of the late Ruth and Robert Morrison. Gwen graduated from Youngstown State University. She married Eugene Hilston in Youngstown, OH on December 27, 1975. Gwen enjoyed working as a teacher, then in retail, then as a homemaker. She made homes in many places, such as Youngstown, Girard and Warren, OH. Gwen enjoyed crafting, cake decorating, sewing and knitting. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Eugene B. Hilston; brothers, John and Robert; and dear dog, Kai.

She is survived by her cherished stepchildren, James (Amy) Hilston, Cathie Hilston, and Gene (Tashia) Hilston; treasured grandchildren, Allie, Caleb, Tabitha, Ethan, Emylee, Ben, and Jude; loving great grandchildren, Aaron and Aidan; loving cousin, Sue; devoted friends and caregivers, Dorothy Schultz, Patty Brenner, and Laura Hilston.

The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice and the staff at the Gardens at Cuyahoga Falls for their care and support during this difficult time.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Gwen will be laid to rest with her husband, Eugene, at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, OH.
