Jack Ritchie Donaldson

Jack R. Donaldson, age 88, of Granger Twp. in Medina, OH went home to be with his LORD on August 5th, 2025.

A son of two immigrants from Scotland, Jack was born and raised in Detroit, MI. While in high school, the family moved to Royal Oak, MI, where he graduated from Royal Oak High School. Jack also resided in Jackson, MI before moving to the Cleveland area. Once settling in Northeast Ohio, he married the love of his life, Nancy Pile.

Jack was a devoted employee and worked for Hough Bakeries for almost 30 years. He then transitioned to working as a realtor, quickly grasping the nuances of the real estate industry, before reaching a well-earned retirement.

The three loves of Jack’s life were his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the local assembly, and his family. One of Jack’s greatest joys in life was entertaining in his home, with his wife Nancy by his side, throughout their 60 years of marriage together. He also had a heart and displayed a genuine passion for encouraging and mentoring younger men.

Preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Rebecca Donaldson; his brother, Arthur Donaldson; and son, Jonathan Donaldson; Jack is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; his daughter, Elizabeth (Liz); and his grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held 1 P.M. FRIDAY August 8th at the Billow Funeral Homes and Crematory, FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road Akron, OH 44333, with Eugene Higgins serving as officiant. The family cordially invites friends and family to visitation, which will begin at 11:30 A.M. and will conclude around 1 P.M. at the start of the funeral service. Guests are invited to celebrate Jack’s life and to continue in fellowship at a funeral luncheon, which will be held at the Akron Gospel Hall, 2705 Smith Rd, Fairlawn, OH 44333. Jack will be laid to rest in a private interment ceremony at Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland.
