Listen to Obituary

Jean Carol Troike entered the presence of her precious Savior, Jesus Christ, and was reunited with her beloved husband, Ernst “Ernie” Troike, on July 13, 2026.

Born on the Fourth of July in 1933, she was, indeed, the firecracker of the family!

Jean and Ernie were married on June 2, 1956, a union that lasted until his passing in April 2018. Together they raised four children, all born within seven years, each of whom has endless stories to tell about growing up in "the Troike household!"

Jean embraced life with enthusiasm. She loved playing tennis, skiing, diving, biking, hiking, and traveling the world. Encouraged by her husband and children, she never lost her adventurous spirit or her love of friendly competition. At the age of 78, she completed her first mini triathlon at Portage Lakes State Park, and it became an annual tradition for the next five years.

Jean and Ernie were devoted, faithful members of Cross Point Alliance Church (formerly Fairlawn Alliance Church), where she served in many volunteer roles, caring for others within the church and through assisting with its outreach ministries.

An accomplished seamstress, Jean delighted in expressing her creativity by decorating her home, making beautiful window treatments, and sewing faith banners for her church family.

She was also an exceptional cook who hosted countless holiday meals where no one ever left hungry. Her beef brisket and lasagna will be fondly remembered by family and friends alike.

In addition to her husband, Ernie, Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Emma and Delmar Hendrickson Sr.; her beloved sister, Berle Hendrickson; her brother and sister-in-law, Delmar Jr. and Marianne Hendrickson; and her nephew, Robert Troike. She is survived by her children, Robin, John (Sharon), Skip (Denise), Paul (Kelly); grandchildren, Elise (Robert), Daniel (Lena), Katie (Adam), Stephen, Jesse (Tia), Kayla (Henry) and Camden; seven great grandchildren and an eighth on the way; Sister, Vicki (Kevin) Kamm and brother- in law, Bob (Bette) Troike.

The funeral service will be held 11:30 A.M. SATURDAY July 18th, 2026 at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road Fairlawn, OH 44333. Friends and family may call 90 minutes prior to the funeral. Interment at Moore’s Chapel Cemetery immediately following the funeral.
