Jeffery Davis Nelson

Jeffery Davis Nelson, age 75, of Akron, Ohio, passed peacefully on April 24, 2026.

Born on January 29, 1951, in Akron, Ohio, Jeffery was the beloved son of Donald and Jeanne Nelson. As the eldest of seven children, he grew up shouldering responsibility with quiet strength and set a steadfast example for his siblings.

A devoted father to daughter Alexandria, Jeffery cherished his family above all else. He was known as a kind and gentle soul who brought calm wherever he went. A natural peacemaker, he had a gift for easing tensions, listening with an open heart, and helping others find common ground. His warmth and steady presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Early in his working life, Jeffery was employed at the Montrose Swim and Tennis Club and later at The Cell-O-Core Company, where he contributed with reliability and care.

He is preceded in death by his father, Donald; and mother, Jeanne; sisters, Deborah Ann, Jill Christine, and Diane Jeanne. He is survived by his daughter, Alexandria; brother, David (Susanna); sister, Julie (Ray); and brother, Drew.

Calling hours will be held in honor of Jeffery 4-6 P.M. THURSDAY May 7th at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., followed by a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jeff’s name may be made to Blood Cancer United (bloodcancerunited.org), a highly rated organization dedicated to funding research, supporting patients, and improving outcomes for those affected by blood cancers, including leukemia. Blood Cancer United was previously referred to as The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Jeffery will be remembered not only for the years he lived, but for the love, gentleness, and harmony he shared so freely. May he rest in eternal peace.
