Jeffrey Richard Payne

Jeffrey Richard Payne, age 60, of Richfield, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025.

He was born June 30, 1964, in Pittsburgh, PA; son of Gilbert and Nancy (nee Jurso) Payne. Jeffrey was a hardworking, passionate man. He was a computer software engineer and loved his job and the people he worked with. He had many hobbies, including golf, watching documentaries and movies, especially The Big Lebowski and James Bond, listening to music on his stereo, usually blasting his favorite jazz artist, Sun Ra. Jeffrey loved Bugs Bunny, appreciated good art, and despised the word “veggies.”

He loved to travel and thrived in places like Paris, Italy and Iceland where he is a lifetime member of the Iceland Fab Five. Most importantly, Jeffrey loved his family and spending time with them; especially taking his nephews to lunch and making fun of their sports brackets. He had a good life and lived well and loved hard.

Jeffrey is survived by his cherished brother, Douglas (Diane) Payne; beloved sisters, Karen Payne, and Jennifer (Joe) Restivo; treasured nieces and nephews, Eric, Sean, Jacqueline, Joseph, Michael, and Noah.

Memorial service will take place MONDAY, July 7, 2025, 12:30PM at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Fairlawn, OH 44333. Friends may call from 10:30 AM until the time of service.
