John Paul Galit, 73, died February 1, 2013.
Born in Akron, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran. A truck driver, John enjoyed spending time at his cabin in the upper peninsula of Michigan.
Preceded in death by his brother, Jim; he is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Galit; son, Edwin "Mike" Galit; daughters, Christine Beatty and Sara Parker; grandchildren, Tiffany, Craig and Shelbi; sister-in-law, Alice Galit; and sister, Jill Hadley.
At his request, private family services will be held, cremation has taken place. His urn will be placed at Glendale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Summa Health System Foundation, 525 E. Market St., Akron, Ohio 44309.
