Joseph James Waschak IV passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, at age 77. He was born December 3, 1948, in Youngstown, OH.
Joseph attended Boardman high school where he enjoyed being a sports announcer. He was a proud United States Army veteran. Like his father, Joseph worked for the United States Postal Service. He began his career as a letter carrier and retired as a Customer Service Analyst and Accident and Tort Claims Investigator for the Akron area post office. He loved golf, football, sci-fi, anything to do with technology, and playing computer games.
He is survived by his cherished daughters, Elizabeth Waschak of Natrona Heights, PA and Rebecca (Matthew) Tompkins of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; treasured grandchildren, Sean Tompkins and Taran Tompkins; beloved brothers, Douglas (Felicia) Waschak of Colorado and Paul Waschak of Boardman, OH; two nieces; two nephews; and the mother of his children, Katrina (Greabing) Waschak of Austintown, OH.
Preceded in death by his father Joseph James Waschak III, mother Rose Waschak, and brother James Waschak.
In accordance with his wishes, Joseph has been cremated. Private family services to take place.
