Leona Ruth Richardson

Leona Ruth Richardson passed away peacefully at home on May 16 at the age of 97. Ruth graduated from old Granger High School, Balboa J.C., Panama Canal Zone, and Ohio State University.

In the 1970’s she was a highly versatile substitute teacher in the APS System. She then worked for the Ruhlin Company, retiring from there at the age of 63. She remained close to many of her colleagues over the years.

After retirement, Ruth was active in the local theater scene, appearing in plays at Weathervane and Coach House. After her acting days were over, she was a long-time volunteer at Weathervane and considered those she worked with her other “family”.

Ruth was preceded in death by her brothers, George (WWII) and Jim Smith; her daughter, Vivian; and Son-in-Law Wayne Allen.

She is survived by her son, Steve and grandson Connor; and grandson Eric Allen; and great grandson, Ein.

Burial will take place in Greenville, PA with her daughter and son-in-law. A special thank you to Summa Home Hospice for the care they provided.
