Leslie J. Connolly

Leslie J. “Les” Connolly, age 83, of Granger Township, passed away surrounded by his family on December 17th, 2025 in the hospital after ongoing health issues. We have no doubt the doors to heaven were held wide open for his entry.

Les was born in Akron, Ohio, where he lived most of his young life. He graduated high school in Toronto, Ohio, where he lived with relatives for several years. Upon graduation, he returned to Akron and met his future wife, Pam. They married and he secured a job at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in the mailroom at a young age. After years of demonstrating a strong work ethic, dedication, and steadfast reliability, he moved up the ranks, eventually becoming Director of Original Equipment Sales and Marketing for North America, then retiring as the Global Account executive to General Motors.

Les was a boy scout troop leader, golfer, kid chauffeur, handyman, car show lover, baseball fan, good friend and best grandpa ever! He was involved with the Jaguar Club of Ohio for over 20 years. He made lots of friends, helped organize events, judged cars and showed his cars which he thoroughly enjoyed pampering. He was the Condo Association president for his allotment until 80 years of age, still loving to work, organize information and work with people.

Les was devoted to his grandsons, Dustin and Devin. He was always patient, available and interested in what they wanted and needed. He was “200% dependable.” He unconditionally helped family, friends and even strangers.

Les was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Connolly; parents, James M. Connolly and Irene Connolly (nee Hill); his brother, Michael Connolly; and his son, Terry Connolly by only two days. He is survived by his daughter, Dana (Burke) James; grandsons, Dustin and Devin; and much-loved cousins, nieces and nephews; and his three cats affectionately known as the McGuire sisters.

Les, and his son, Terry Connolly, will be laid to rest at Reid Hill Cemetery in Granger Township. The committal service will be held 1 P.M. FRIDAY January 9th, 2026. Following the committal, friends and family are cordially invited to a reception from 2-4 P.M. at Papa Joe’s Iacomini’s, 1561 Akron Peninsula Road, Akron, OH 44313.
