Mark Fisher Colton, 69, passed away peacefully October 23, 2025, surrounded by his family, following a courageous 18-month battle with glioblastoma.
Mark was born May 19,1956, in Columbus, Ohio, and moved to Cuyahoga Falls in grade school and again in high school, where he met his wife of 40 years, Kimberlee (Raines) and many lifelong friends.
In addition to Kimberlee, Mark leaves behind his beloved son, Mitchell (fiancee Nicole Baeder); father, Stephen (Stephanie); brother, Doug (Julie), sisters, Laurie Hart and Wendy (Tucia) Colton, brother-in-law, Randy (Ellen) Raines; nieces and nephews, Jessica Colton, Missy (Brian) Rinehart, Bob Colton, James Colton, Maggie Colton, Kate Colton, Jeff Hart, Amy Gruver, Weston (Carrie) Hart, Emily Hart, Jack (Bella) Raines and Sam Raines, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Sue Anne Colton, brother-in-law John Hart and his grandparents who he adored.
In their many years together, Kim and Mark enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends in California, Florida and New Mexico, as well as to Italy, Hawaii, New York City and the western U.S. They enjoyed many laughs and adventures together.
Mark loved his family dearly, particularly his son Mitch, who shared his love of sports, outdoor activities, music and good food.
Mark enjoyed being outdoors with his friends, particularly their epic trips to Canada and the annual trip to Lake Erie with his dad and friends – a tradition that lasted some 40 years. He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1974 and attended Ohio University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. He received a Master of Business Administration from The University of Akron.
He spent his career at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics (formerly Norton Plastics), retiring as Product Development Manager in 2021.
The family would like to thank all their wonderful friends for their ongoing love and support, especially Jim and Vicky Cramer, who were always there when they were needed. Thanks also to Mark’s medical team: Dr. Tiffany Hodges, Dr. Herbert Newton, PA-C Megan Sotak, Dr. Prashant Vempati, and the entire staff at University Hospital Seidman Cancer Center, for their care and support during this difficult journey.
The family will receive friends FRIDAY, November 7, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., Cuyahoga Falls, with a brief service of remembrance at 6:00 p.m. Friends are encouraged to share a story or memory of Mark at the service.
