Michael R. Koly, 68, of Akron, Ohio, went into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 7, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was a true warrior in his two-year battle against cancer.
Michael was born in Akron, Ohio, to the late Steven and Mary Jane Koly.
He is survived by his beautiful bride, Nancy Koly; his daughter, Chris Hlavin (Johnny); and his beloved granddaughter, Grace Hlavin. He is also survived by his loving siblings, David Koly (Nancy), Stephen Koly (Patti), and Kathleen Koly Booth (Craig). He was preceded in death by his sister, Diane (Ron).
Michael is also lovingly remembered by his niece, Kristen Blanks, and his nephew, Christopher Koly.
He had a successful and fulfilling career as a financial planner with Integrated Wealth Management for over 40 years and was a proud graduate of Kent State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree.
Michael was deeply dedicated to his faith and was an active member of St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Copley. He loved playing golf, backpacking to beautiful destinations, and traveling the world alongside his beloved Nancy. He had a true passion for mentoring others and sharing his love for Jesus. He will always be remembered for his warm smile, kind heart, and wonderful sense of humor. He was also known for being a devoted husband and for his deep love and commitment to Nancy—their godly marriage was an example to many.
Visitation will be held FRIDAY, April 17 from 4:00-7:00 PM at St. Luke's Anglican Church, Copley, OH, 44321 (light refreshments will be available).
A Celebration of Life will take place on SATURDAY, April 18 at 11:00 AM, with additional visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service.
In honor of Michael’s joyful spirit and strong faith, this will be a celebration of life. Guests are encouraged to wear colors that reflect his light and legacy rather than traditional black attire.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Copley.
