Dr. Nabil A Manneh, age 87 of Tallmadge, OH, a devoted husband, loving father, beloved physician and faithful servant of the Church, entered eternal rest on September 3, 2025.
Dr. Manneh touched countless lives through both his medical practice and his steadfast dedication to the Orthodox Christian community. But above all, his most significant legacy is his family. He was born in Palestine and completed his medical training at Hadassah University. He began his medical career by opening a medical clinic in Israel.
He later immigrated with his wife and daughters to the United States in order to give his girls a life of peace and opportunity. Dr. Manneh then established his general surgery practice in Akron. For decades he cared for his patients with great kindness and compassion. Known for his gentle manner and healing spirit, he was more than a doctor to many—he was a trusted friend and confidant.
Dr. Manneh’s legacy extends beyond medicine. He dedicated time and energy to his church, St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, where he served as Chairman of the Parish Council during one of the most pivotal times in parish history. He worked tirelessly with the Board to purchase land and begin construction on the parish’s current home, a milestone that stands as a testament to his vision and commitment to future generations.
Together with his wife, May, Dr. Manneh raised a family rooted in faith, love, and service. Above all his accomplishments, his most cherished titles were “Dad” and “Sido.” His memory and countless teachings live on in his three daughters and eight grandchildren.
Dr. Manneh will be remembered as a man of integrity, humility, and generosity—one whose life reflected Christ’s commandment to love God and love thy neighbor. His kindness, his leadership, and his unwavering faith will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Nabil is welcomed in Heaven by his mother, Najla; father, Shoukri; and brother, Butrus. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 58 years, May; his children, Nana (Brad) Genereux, Rana (Jeff) Swan, and Arene (Steve) Staszak; grandchildren, Michael, Katie, Anna, Delanie, Samira, Leila, Kiera and Steven; his brother, Badea; his nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and friends.
May his memory be eternal. ☦
