Norma J. Bates

On the morning of July 18, 2026, Norma Jean (Corbett) Bates sadly passed away unexpectedly. She had been liking Facebook posts the night before and was even laughing and joking just hours before. Norma always made sure those close to her knew she loved them, and she was thinking of them. She will be missed.

She was born October 10, 1944, to William and Esther Corbett of Sharon Center, OH. Norma was one of four children: Marolyn Smith (Gary), Patricia Corbett, and Thomas Corbett (Laura).

Norma is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl Daniel Bates.

Norma and Carl had two sons, Daniel Bates and his wife Angel, and Joseph Bates and his wife Rachel; six grandchildren, Tyler Bates, Alex Bates, Adrian Bates, Ben Vlcek, Dorian Bates, and Annie Vlcek- all of which she loved and cherished deeply. Norma had three great grandchildren, Rosie Bates, Mars Bates, and Ivy Bates.

Private family inurnment has taken place at Rose Hill Burial Park. A celebration of life will be held a later date.
