Patricia Evelyn Lightner

Patricia Evelyn Bailey Lightner, age 79, of Akron, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 1, 2025.

Patricia loved her family and always made sure they came first. Her beloved grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was crafty and loved to entertain. Patricia was a fabulous cook and her family looked forward to her meals. She was a proud woman of Faith with a strong love for Jesus. 

Preceded in death by her parents, James and Evelyn (nee Butcher) Bailey; and Jess Lightner, whom she was married to for over 16 years and remained dear friends.

Patricia is survived by her daughters, Christie Wise (Walter), and Laurie Lightner (David); grandchildren, James Francis Bailey (Mallory), Jessica Johnson (Andy), and Christopher Wise (Gina); brother, Bill Bailey (Sherri); dearest cousins, Jack Butcher, Audrey Null (Peter); nieces, Rachelle Bailey (Steven), Shannon Howski (Greg), and Jacki Bailey; and one great grandchild on the way, who Patricia is cuddling in heaven before she sends them safely to Earth; and numerous friends and extended family that she loved dearly.

Funeral service will take place FRIDAY, March 7, 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Fairlawn, OH 44333. Friends may call from 3:00 PM until the start of the service. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Patricia’s name are suggested to the Autism Society of Greater Akron, 580 Grant St, Akron, OH 44311 or the Humane Society of Summit County, 752 W. Portage Trl, Akron, OH 44313.
