Raymond “Ray” Pasquali, age 80, passed away at home on September 23rd, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family. Ray believed in the power of “la familia” which in his mind, extended beyond bloodline. His greatest joy came from casting a line with the people he loved most, sharing quiet mornings on the water, and big fish tales that grew even bigger over the years. With a brilliant mind and hands that could fix anything, Ray had a gift for solving problems—both practical and personal—with persistence, ingenuity, and love.

He was born in Canton, Ohio, the son of Edie and Gene Pasquali. After earning a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University, he served in an international role as a VP at BF Goodrich before purchasing Liberty Solvents where he finished his career.

Ray’s proudest accomplishment was his marriage to his beloved wife of 57 years, Rosalind (Trizzino) Pasquali, whom he always called “the best decision he ever made.” Together they built a home rooted in love, laughter, and tradition, raising two daughters who carry forward his legacy of strength and heart: Andrea Powley (Chris) and granddaughter Skylar, and Dana Pasquali and grandchildren Hadley, Dexter and Sawyer. His love only deepened with the arrival of the people who called him “Papa”, each of whom brought him immeasurable pride and joy.

He is reunited with his parents, his in-laws Anthony Trizzino and Nora and Tony DiMattio, his grandparents Mary and Romolo Pasquali and Mary and Salvatore Raco, countless aunts, uncles, cousins, family friends and his partner in crime and forever fishing partner, the beloved Uncle Joe Raco.

Family and friends are invited to join in remembering Ray’s life. Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 6:00PM on SUNDAY, September 28th, 2025 at Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road in Akron, Ohio. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

As we gather to honor his life, let us remember his incredible laugh, the copious amounts of lectures he gave, the pounding of his fist while making a point, and his countless sayings of which “Expectations Come True” was his favorite. Ray will be remembered for his generosity, his grumpiness, his humor, his love of fishing, and his unwavering devotion to the family he adored. His was a life well-lived which had a long lasting impact on so many.
