Richard Malcom Sipley

Reverend Richard 'Dick' Malcom Sipley born September 14,1926 near Rome, NY. He was the third of four children in his family. Reverend Sipley's first recorded outing was to the Holliday Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Holliday, PA; October 2nd, 1926, setting the precedent of his following 99 years of life.

Growing up in a home of strong faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; Reverend Sipley attended Nyack Missionary College. During that short time, he met Anita Ragland who would soon be Anita Sipley. They married September 2nd, 1948, at the age of 21 and remained so until the day she passed away in 2008. At just 21 they began a life wholly devoted to the Lord, never wavering from their straight and narrow path. In 1954 they adopted the first of their two children Richard Lawrence Sipley and Janice Sipley.

Richard Sipley and his wife Anita called Canada their home for many years after their children grew up. Reverend Sipley taught at an innumerable amount of churches in the United States, Canada and abroad in Africa, South America, Japan, the Philippines. He taught and deeply hoped for people to know his personal and ever-present God capable of healing, answering prayers and comfort.

Richard was an accomplished Painter, Tenor Singer and avid Fisher. His last and final home was Tallmadge, Ohio where he passed peacefully on the 14th of January 2026. He leaves behind his son Larry Sipley and a legacy carried on through the souls he won throughout his lifetime. His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ Matthew 25:21 ESV

Friends may call on TUESDAY, January 27, 2026, from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Akron, OH 44333 where funeral service will commence at 5:00 PM. Rev. Sipley will be laid to rest privately at Tallmadge Cemetery.
