Ronald Harry Miller, age 87, of Akron, passed away into the arms of Jesus, on Monday, November 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born July 17, 1938, in Bellefontaine, OH to Raymond and Doris Miller.
Ron loved Jesus and his life exemplified his commitment to Him and faithfully put the needs of others before his own. He was a longtime member of the Chapels in Akron and then Green. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He attended Buchtel High School and the College of Wooster where he earned a degree in Chemistry, which enabled him to eventually launch his own plastics manufacturing company where he was respected and loved by all those working with him. Ron was an outstanding athlete and excelled in basketball, baseball, and later in life, he loved tennis, golf, and running, completing three marathons.
Ron touched countless lives with his quiet strength and steadfast kindness, leaving an imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was a true role model—humble in spirit yet naturally a leader, guiding others not with authority but with compassion and integrity. Gentle by nature and generous with his time, wisdom, and heart, Ron made people feel seen, valued, and loved. His warm sense of humor brought light to even the heaviest moments, reminding all around him of the simple joy in being together. Loved by all, he leaves behind a legacy of goodness that will continue to inspire.
Ron was active in local chapters supporting Young Life, Meeting God in Missions, and Habitat for Humanity.
Ron’s life verse was Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Raymond (Sandra) Miller.
Ron is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Patricia Miller; cherished children, Laura (Jeff) Jones, Tim (Sheri) Miller, and Todd Miller; treasured grandchildren, Nate (Karis), Betsy (Bobby), Sam (Grace), Abby, Anna (Bryce), Chrissy, Bethany (James), Logan (Annika), and Story; beloved great grandchildren, Gunner, Jesse, Judah, Ronnie, and Makaiah; dear sister Barbara Miller and loyal brother-in-law Larry (Nikki) Miller; and many loving nieces and nephews.
