Sally C. Gannon, age 86, died peacefully on Thursday August 27, 2026, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Akron, OH on September 26, 1939 to parents Christy and Mary Zickefoose (nee Squires).
Sally was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was rooted deeply in her faith and love for Jesus. She never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcomed, cared for, and loved. Her kindness, warmth, and genuine love for others left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Sally’s faith carried her through many difficult seasons of life, and she never stopped believing in the goodness and love for God. Her greatest legacy is not simply the years she lived, but the love she gave so freely and the faith she shared with those around her. She leaves behind a family who will miss her more than words can express, but who finds comfort knowing that she is now at peace and in the loving arms of her Savior.
Preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by her three children, Jay W. Johnson II, John W. Johnson Jr., and Marjorie Knoch (Kevin); her grandchildren, Stephanie Miller (Nick), Russell Johnson (Kourtlyn), Christopher Hodson, David Johnson, and Hannah Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Abigail, Nathaniel, Tabitha, Emory, Rowan, and Collins; her sister, Joan Culbertson (Roy); and her nephew, Richard Culberson.
Sally’s earthly journey is complete, but her love, laughter, faith, and memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Until we meet again, Mom.
