Selene Candis Ricker

Selene Candis Ricker (nee Louderback) passed peacefully on April 24, 2026, at the age of 84. She was born in Berryville, Virginia on October 1, 1931 to William Louderback and Josephine Powell. Selene was a very loving, caring Mother devoted to her children, instilling in them a strong faith and love for their Heavenly Father, Jehovah God. She was a faithful member of the Brunswick Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 60 years.

She was also a loving Wife, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Aunt, and Mother-in-law with an extensive family, including a brother, a sister, 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, and a blended family that included one son and daughter-in-law,

9 Grandchildren, 1 honorary grandson who was very dear to her, 10 great-grandchildren, and an exhaustive number of nieces, nephews, and their children on both sides of the family.

Selene was a sweet, kind, loving person who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She had a strong belief in the promise of a resurrection, as declared by Jesus to his Friend Martha at John 11:25, 26 “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life. Do you believe this?”. She taught many to look forward to the time described at Revelation 21:4 “And He (God), will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away”. What a beautiful future awaits mankind, who will be freed from sin, suffering, sickness, and even death. Perfect life and happiness await all who have the prospect of endless life on an earthly paradise.
